Southern California is very good for growing Plumeria (Frangipani). In the Summer, we visited the Upland nursery in Orange, California and took some pictures of its plumeria. You can view these plumeria pictures at  the plumeria page in my freebeautifulpictures.com site.

If you want to grow plumeria, you need to choose a sunny place in your garden, the more sun the better for plumeria to bloom. Plumeria is very easy to grow from cutting. You can buy plumeria cutting from nurseries, Home Depot or Lowes or just ask your neighbors for a cutting if they have a big plumeria tree.
